President, Women and Democracy Association

Born in Istanbul in 1975, she completed her primary education in Belgium and high school in Istanbul. In 1998, she graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Theology, and subsequently completed her Master's degree with a thesis titled "Legal Analysis of Reversal Decisions in Islamic Religious Law" at the same faculty's "Islamic Law" department.

She completed her PhD studies in 2011 at Marmara University Faculty of Law with her work titled "Ottoman Law and its Implementation in the Light of Complaint Books" Between 2011 and 2014, she held the position of chair and lecturer at the Department of Islamic Law at Istanbul Medipol University Faculty of Law.

During this period, she served on the board of various associations and foundations, participated in panels and workshops related to her field. Currently, she is a faculty member at Yalova University Faculty of Law in the Department of Legal History and continues to serve as the President of KADEM (Women and Democracy Association).

Fluent in English and Arabic, Gümrükçüoğlu is married and the mother of three children.
