About the Forum

Women's Forum on Addiction and Recovery brings together experts, advocates, and lawmakers for a conversation on the unique challenges and concerns facing women struggling with substance abuse.

The Forum is a gateway to a world of insights, expertise, and groundbreaking solutions. This forum, born from the dedication of the Turkish Green Crescent Society in partnership with the Ministry of Family and Social Services sets the stage for a crucial discussion.

The Forum was initially launched in 2022 as a nationally focused digital event, engaging 300 participants. In 2024, it transitioned to an in-person format in New York, expanding its scope to include international representation. Held at the Turkish Center during the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), the Forum brings together dozens of academics, researchers, policymakers, and representatives of non-governmental organizations to explore the complexities of addiction, while shedding light on the stigma, discrimination, and systemic barriers faced by women on their path to recovery.

Distinguished guest speakers who have honored the Forum include the Minister of Family and Social Services of the Republic of Türkiye, the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Türkiye, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Türkiye to the United Nations, the Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in New York, and the Chief of Staff of the State Committee on Family, Women, and Children Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

We invite you to join our next Forum and be part of this international movement. Be prepared to share, learn, and collaborate with experts from around the world, tackling global policies, best practices, and the ever-evolving challenges faced by women in addiction and recovery.

Don't miss your chance to be a driving force for change. Join us in shaping a future where women's voices are heard, where solutions are evidence-based, and where recovery knows no barriers. Together, we can make a difference!
